Welcome!
Lincoln on Professionalism is a CLE seminar based on Abraham Lincoln's life as a lawyer. Produced by the Atlanta Bar Association in partnership with Georgia 's Chief Justice's Commission on Professionalism, and using an engaging documentary-style format, Lincoln 's exemplary qualities of professionalism come to life – the qualities he demonstrated day in and day out in his law practice.
This documentary is coupled with a discussion among a stellar panel of Georgia judges and lawyers, including a former Governor of Georgia, to provide a current and modern context to the model of professionalism that Lincoln provides.
“Resolve to be honest at all events, and if in your own judgment you cannot be an honest lawyer, resolve to be honest without being a lawyer.”
“Never stir up litigation. A worse man can scarcely be found who does this…A moral tone ought to be infused into the profession which should drive such men out of it.”
“The leading rule for the lawyer, as for the man of every other profession, is diligence. Leave nothing for tomorrow which can be done today.”
Abraham Lincoln lived by these words in his law practice.
